Although he originally hailed from St Louis - Missouri and has now settled with his family in Orlando - Florida, Stan was always a man on the move. His career has taken him all over this awesome world of ours..
He studied Hospitality Management at Tiffin University (Ohio)- majoring in Travel and Tourism.
While studying he started his career in the Service Industry with the Marriott Corporation where he not only interned, but then spent every available summer vacation at the St Louis Marriott working his way through each department gaining management experience of all facets of the hotel services
After graduation, The General Manager of the Marriott property in St Louis, recognizing his customer relations skills offered Stan the opportunity to follow him to the Marriott Ownership Resorts, Orlando, Florida ( Now known as Marriott Vacation Club International) where he worked as Front Desk Administrator. Stan showed the initiative and excelled in special customer requests/requirement that the resort actually created the position of "Rooms Control Manager" for him.
Feeling the need to touch base with family and his home town he headed back to St Louis, where he also touched base with the largest Corporate Travel Company in the country, Maritz Travel Company.
It was through, Maritz that took Stan around the world to places that most people only dream about. He can boast that he has visited six continents in a span of five year as a full time Travel Director.
He was involved in coordinating logistics and transportation from individuals, such as Jessie Jackson, Colin Powell, William Marriott, Middle Weight Champion Roy Jones, Jr, Pro-baller Joe Johnson, Hewy Lewis, Michael Jackson, Puffy Daddy, Fabian Washington, Chingy, Bobby V, Nelly, Chris Gardner to huge Corporate groups as large as 10,000. It's not just been Stretch Limousines and buses that he has had to move people in….
He has arranged and ridden Camels into the Sahara Desert, Elephants in Singapore, as well as four wheel drives gaming safaris in South Africa and cruising the Caribbean. He has slept in a King's palace in Morocco, Been lullabied to the "Sounds of Music" in Austria, and woken up on a luxury cruise liner in the middle of Sydney Harbor - Australia.
He has spent his days directing groups through the rides in Orlando's Amusement parks to spectating races at Daytona and Indiana 500's. He was involved in hosting corporate groups at two Olympic Games - Atlanta and Australia along with the Asian Games in Thailand.
During his continual five years of being on road with Maritz, he was personally handpicked as the preferred Travel Coordinator for General Motors (AC Delco) under the direction of Dwayne Miller.
Due to his proximity to the tropics Stan was also chosen and became Caribbean and Orlando specialist for the Maritz Travel Company..
Stan unpacked and stored his suitcase come 2001 when he accepted a position as an Account Manager with Hello Florida - A destination Management Company where he gained even more local knowledge of all the attractions, venues and activities this No.1 Tourist Destination has to offer. He provided on-site management for each event, including site inspections, menu planning, décor, event themes and transportation. Also coordinating up to 100 event staff and was responsible for negotiating pricing for entertainment, menus, hotel space and meeting rooms.
Stan's past work history has allowed him to experience the Tourism triangle - encompassing the Hotels, Incentive Houses and Destination Management Companies.
In January 2006 Stan started Doing it Wright an independant consulting firm specializing in meeting plannnig, logistics and entertainment. With several clients under his belt he continues to make a mark in the industry as a trusted consultant. Working closing with cousin and client Howard "Chingy" Bailey has some really exciting music coming 4th quarter.... Stay tuned....
As a tour manager, Stan organises the financial, logistical and personnel administration of entertainment events. During the first five years of Stan's tour management career, He managed over 1,100 shows in clubs, theatres, arenas and festivals in 25 countries in Europe, America, Asia, Australia. More recently he has serviced acts of the likes of Craig David, Chingy, Nelly, Bobby Valentino, to name just a few.
His experience also includes the preparation of budgets, itineraries, logistics and production details, and works closely with both promoter and the artists to produce smooth-running tours. He understands labour and health and safety laws, transport logistics, production, shipping and budgeting, as well as an innate understanding of sound, systems and human resources.
He is familiar with both Windows and Mac platforms, utilising Quick Books, Quicken, MYOB, Excel, Word, Power Point Outlook Express, Entourage and Photoshop.
